Carroll Lemaster

September 3, 1934 — April 14, 2014

Carroll Vernon LeMaster, 79, of Spartanburg, SC, died Monday, April 14, 2014, at Magnolia Place-Spartanburg. A native of Spartanburg County, he was born September 3, 1934, the son of the late Frank V. LeMaster and Willie Mae Holcombe LeMaster. Mr. LeMaster was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, a former deacon, an usher, and a member of the Outlaws Sunday School Class. On May 10, 1996, Mr. LeMaster became the 189th recipient of a heart transplant at Carolina's Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. He was retired from Spartanburg Steel Products after 34 years of service. Survivors include his beloved wife of 61 years, Lucille G. LeMaster; two sons, Carroll Bruce LeMaster and wife Dorothy of Inman, SC, and Joey V. LeMaster of Greenville, SC; two grandchildren, Kevin LeMaster of Greenville, SC, and Leslie LeMaster of Spartanburg, SC; one great-granddaughter, Peyton Hollifield and a great-grandson, Braeden Hollifield of Spartanburg, SC; several nieces and nephews; and two great nieces. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Edna L. Davis and Betty P. Luna. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 PM Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday, April 17, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by the Rev. Rob Gouge and the Rev. Monty King. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Complex. The deacons of Mount Zion Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 842 Mt.
