Carrie Osment

Carrie Angeline Martin Osment, 96, of Spartanburg, SC, former resident of Harry C. White Manor, died Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Magnolia Manor - Inman. Born May 1, 1918, in Pacolet Mills, SC, she was the daughter of the late Roy Lee and Minerva Greene Martin, and widow of Evins S. "Shader" Osment. Mrs. Osment was a member of Pacolet First Baptist Church and retired from Pacolet Mills-Milliken & Company. Surviving are her son, William H. Osment of Duncan, SC; grandchildren, Karen Wright, Paula Osment Matthews, Barry Lee Collins, William Todd Osment, and Bryan Christopher Osment; eight great-grandchildren; and brother, Robert "Bob" Martin of Spartanburg, SC, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Jackie Collins; sisters, Minnie Laughter and Arrie Thornton; and brothers, James Martin, Cletus Martin, Wallace Martin, Ed Martin, and Henry Martin. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at Floyd's Pacolet Chapel, 141 Memorial Drive, Pacolet, SC 29372, by the Rev. Tommy Sparks. Visitation will follow the service at the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pacolet First Baptist Church, 310 West Main Street, Pacolet, SC 29372; or Ben Avon Baptist Church, 2437 Wallace Avenue, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
