Carolyn Spann

Carolyn Jean Gordon Spann, 79, of Spartanburg, SC, died Friday, November 1, 2013, at White Oak Estates-Spartanburg. Born April 22, 1934, in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Marion Golden Gordon and Lucille Green Gordon. A loving mother and grandmother, Carolyn was a member of Advent United Methodist Church-Simpsonville. She attended Limestone College and retired from Greenville Memorial Auditorium. Survivors include her son, Mitchell Gordon Spann (Juli); daughter, Juli Spann Rivers (Stephen); 10 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild. She was predeceased by a daughter, Carol Lynn Hudson; and husband, Olin L. Spann. Visitation will be 3:15 - 3:45 PM Monday, November 4, 2013, at Spartanburg Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, 1801 Skylyn Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29307. A memorial service will follow at 4:00, at the church, conducted by the Rev. Peter A. Waid. The family will receive friends, following the service, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Juli and Stephen Rivers.
