Carolyn Gowan Crowe, 82, of Seneca, SC passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at Lila Doyle Post-Acute in Seneca, SC. She was born in Spartanburg on May 15, 1940, to the late Claude and Geneva Gowan and was widow of the late James H. Crowe.
Mrs. Crowe was a 1958 graduate of Spartanburg High School and member of Spartanburg First Baptist Church. She retired from Mary Black Memorial Hospital after 30 years of dedicated service. In her time at Lila Doyle, Mrs. Crowe became President of the Residents Council and the resident Bingo Champion.
Survivors include her children, Rodney Crowe (Annette), Gwen Gregory, and Sandi Garland (Tony); six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; brother, Larry Gowan; numerous nieces and nephews; and her special friend, Nick Hughes. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, James H. Crowe; brothers, Clifford Gowan and Mike Gowan; sister, Betty Turner; and infant sister, Barbara.
The family would like to thank the St. Mark Caring Ministry “Flower Girls” and Lila Doyle Nursing Facility in Seneca for the love and care that they extended to Mrs. Crowe.
Services will be private.
