Caroline Ivey Morris Greer, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away on June 18th, 2023. She was affectionately known as "Dear" by her grandchildren.
Caroline was born on January 29th, 1940, in Concord, NC. Her parents were Caroline Ivey Morris and Williamson Wallace Morris, Jr. and she was preceded in death by her sister Mary Farrow Morris.
Caroline was a kind, sweet, and devoted sister, mother, and grandmother with a will of iron. She created a beautiful home and garden and enjoyed reading and knitting. Caroline retired from the Spartanburg Chamber of Commerce after 29 years of service. She was an active volunteer at Mobile Meals of Spartanburg. A longtime member of St. Paul Methodist Church, Caroline served on the Altar Guild and as a story time reader at St. Paul’s Preschool. She was a member of the Blanche Greer Circle.
Caroline is survived by her son Allen Greer and his wife Anne Louise Greer; her son Craig Greer and his wife Peggy Greer; her son Michael Greer; her grandchildren Nicholas Greer, John Greer (wife Lauren), Sarah Jo Takacs (husband Matthew), Margaret Tebbe, Allen Tebbe, and Anne Caroline Greer; her great grandchildren Gabriel Greer and baby boy Takacs; and her dog Carmen.
A funeral service for Caroline will be held on Friday, June 30th at 10:00am at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 1320 Fernwood Glendale Rd, Spartanburg, SC. A graveside service will follow at 2:00pm at Oakwood Cemetery, 471 Church St N, Concord, NC.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Caroline's honor to Mobile Meals of Spartanburg, P.O. Box 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304 or online at www.mobile-meals.org/donate.
