Carol Warren

Carol Darlene Ryan Warren, 65, of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at her home. Born December 16, 1948, in Sparks, Maryland, she was the daughter of Frances Elise Ryan Mays of Hampstead, MD and the late Raymond Sewell Ryan. A U. S. Army veteran, Mrs. Warren received her Master's Degree from Converse College. She loved children and teaching special needs for Spartanburg District 6. She received the Teacher of the Year Award in 2013. Surviving is her loving husband of 38 years, Richard Cooper Warren; children, Tammy Coble (Tim) of Spartanburg, SC, Eric Warren (Tanya) of Roebuck, SC, Sean Warren (Crystal) of Chesnee, SC, Christopher Warren, Jonathan Warren, and Thomas Warren, all of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Travis, Trevor, Ryan, Nicholas, Logan, and Katelyn; and sisters, Nancy Counts, Pat Cranston, Joan Leatherwood, and Janet Mays. Visitation will be 2:00-2:45 PM Saturday, August 23, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Stephen Johnson. Military rites will be performed by American Legion Post #28 Honors Team. Memorials may be made to District 6 Child Development Center, 3050 North Blackstock Road, Spartanburg, SC 29301. The family will be at the home of her son, Sean Warren and family in Boiling Springs, SC.
