Carol Burnett

Carol T. Burnett, 84, of Spartanburg, SC, died Monday, August 1, 2022 at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born September 17, 1937 in Spartanburg County, SC, she was the daughter of the late William Bill and Mamie Sprinkle Tate.

Carol was retired from Progressive Lighting after a number of year’s service. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Joseph Benjamin Burnett of the home, their son, Phillip Darrell Burnett of Spartanburg, SC, their daughter, Deborah “Debbie” Burnett of Spartanburg, SC, granddaughters, Morgan Burnett of Spartanburg, SC and Heather Poston (Jerry) of Florence, SC, three great grandchildren, Haley, Caitlin, and Landon, and her sister, Brenda Arthur (Wayne). She was predeceased by a brother, Alvin Tate.

Graveside service will be at 4:00 pm Friday, August 5, 2022 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by The Rev. Michael Boyter. Visitation, with viewing, will be at 3:30 – 4:00 pm, prior to the service at the graveside.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bearden-Josey Center for Breast Cancer Awareness, 380 Serpentine Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
