Carl Rogers

Carl O'Neil Rogers, 91, of Spartanburg, SC, died Saturday, November 10, 2018, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born February 21, 1927, in Spartanburg County, SC, he was the son of the late Redmond and Vera Turner Rogers and husband of the late Mary Bishop Rogers. A U. S. Army veteran, Carl retired as former owner of The Heel Bar and served nine churches as the Minister of Music during his career. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church of Campobello, SC. Survivors include his daughters, Kathy O'Neil Rogers Belcher of Spartanburg, SC, Shelia Kay Rogers Pruitt (Daniel) of Greer, SC, and Mandy Rogers Crisp (William) of Inman, SC; son, John M. Rogers (Cindy) of Boiling Springs, SC; six grandchildren, Josh, Erin, Bryan, Greg, Owen and Nelson; and four great-grandchildren, Hunter, Pate, Eva and Lily Beth. Visitation will be at 12:00 - 1:45 PM Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307 with funeral services following at 2:00 PM, conducted by The Rev. Dr. Michael Bradley and The Rev. Dr. Henry Johnson. Burial, with military rites, will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303. The family is at their respective homes.
