Carl Morris

Carl Wilson Morris, 82, of Spartanburg, died Monday, March 5, 2012, at his home. Born March 7, 1929, in Union, SC, he was the son of the late William E. and Beatrice Nailey Morris. Mr. Morris was a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a charter member of Carlisle Wesleyan Church, a charter member of the Boiling Springs Lions Club, a member of Boiling Springs Masonic Lodge, and former member of the Hejaz Shriners. Carl was retired from Sealy Mattress Company and the former owner/operator of June Bug Pest Control. He graduated from Union High School, attended Georgia State University, The Ohio State University, and embalming college in Atlanta, GA. Survivors include his beloved wife, June Irene Dixon Morris; son, Andy Morris (Tina) of Spartanburg; daughters, Cathy Wright (Steven Cogdill), and Carla Barnes, all of Spartanburg; grandchildren, James Wright (Angie) of Camp Lejeune, NC, Krystal Gurganus (Derek) of Spartanburg, Rhyker Reed (Valerie) of Simpsonville, and Tristan Burkhead of Spartanburg; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Frances M. Bates of N. Augusta, SC. He was predeceased by a daughter, Debra Reed; and two brothers, Paul W. and Robert T. "Bob" Morris. Visitation will be 2:00-2:45 PM Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at Carlisle Wesleyan Church. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 PM, in the church cemetery, conducted by the Rev.
