Carl Cook

Carl Thomas Cook Sr., 77, of Moore, SC, died Friday, September 20, 2013, at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills-Landrum. Born August 6, 1936, in Charlotte, NC, he was the son of the late Luther Carl and Helen Theresa Fitzpatrick Cook. A U. S. Army veteran, Carl was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, the American Legion, and Moose Lodge 2363. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Betsy Hartman Cook; his children, Tracy Cook Slye of Forest City, NC, and Carl T. "Tommy" Cook, Jr. and wife Sandi of Moore, SC; four grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sisters, Bonnie Norman of Atlanta, GA, Jean Johnson of Mint Hill, NC, Maryhelen Wood of Charlotte, NC; that little dog "Maddie"; and a very special friend, Gina Tate of Forest City, NC. He was predeceased by a grandson, Kenneth Charles Topping Jr. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Sunday, September 22, 2013, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel, 235 N. Church St., Spartanburg, SC 29306. A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted at 3:00 PM Monday, September 23, 2013, in Westwood Memorial Gardens, 6101 Reidville Rd., Moore, SC 29369, by the Rev.
