Cameron Michael Pappas, 20, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2015. Born June 29, 1994, in Knoxville, TN and reared in Spartanburg, SC he was the son of Gregory "Greg" Michael Pappas, Jr. and Melissa "Lisa" Myrick Pappas. He was a graduate of Spartanburg High School where he was on the baseball team. Cameron was currently a junior at Wofford College and hoped to pursue a career in government. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and a former member of the Methodist Youth Fellowship (MYF). Cameron was an avid lover of the Dave Matthews Band - just returned from his 26th concert. He was also passionate for Chelsea Soccer and the University of Tennessee, which he had been a fan of since birth. He was known for his contagious smile and fun-loving spirit to all who knew him. Surviving, in addition to his parents is a brother, Derrick Pappas (Trisha) of Spartanburg; a sister, Audra Pappas of Raleigh, NC; paternal grandparents, Gregory and Pearl Pappas of Knoxville, TN; maternal grandfather, Donnie Myrick of Carriere, MS; paternal aunts and uncles, Michael and Yvonne Pappas, Nola and Earl Harris, Tony Pappas, Sylvia Davidson, Tina and Howard York, Bill Pappas, Barb and Max Spurling, Eunice Pappas, Tonja and David Breaux; maternal aunts and uncles, Hugh and Kelley Myrick, Jennifer and Chris Teal, Autumn and Michael Davis, Bethany and Steve Kellam; girlfriend, Daniela Caspio; a niece, Elli Pappas; and several loving cousins. He is preceded in death by his sister, Brooke Pappas; and maternal grandmother, Dallas Myrick. Visitation will be 5:00-6:45 PM Monday, June 22, 2015, in Poston Hall at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 1320 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 PM at the church, conducted by the Rev. Frank E. Lybrand. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wofford College - Office of Development, 429 North Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
