Calvin Walker

Calvin Stowe Walker, 89, of Rock Hill, SC, died Monday, November 19, 2012, at Morningside Assisted Living. Born October 4, 1923, in Union, SC, he was the son of the late Charles and Jessie Pinson Walker and husband of the late Ruth Smith Walker. A veteran of the U. S. Navy during World War II, Mr. Walker was retried from Ryder Trucking, and was a member of Nativity Lutheran Church. Surviving is his daughter, Pamela "Pam" Anne Walker and her partner Linda Hartsock of Rock Hill, SC; sisters, Edie Blalock, Marion McGaha, Ruth Layton, and Louise Foster; brothers, Jim Walker and Bud Walker; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Walker Atkinson. Visitation will be 1:30-2:30 PM Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC. A graveside service with military rites by the SC State Guard Honors Team will follow at 3:00 PM in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. J. Chris Fischer.
