Calvin L. Ramsey, a dedicated man, who sadly passed away on April 1, 2024. Born to Hazel and Alvenia Ramsey on December 4, 1934 in Spartanburg, SC, Calvin led a remarkable life filled with hard work, and simple pleasures.
Calvin grew up in Arcadia and was a proud graduate of Fairforest High School Class of 1953 and held an Associates Degree. He excelled in his career as an electrician and eventually retired as a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force. During his career in the Air Force he served tours abroad in Korea, Turkey, and Morocco. Upon his return to the United States he was stationed in South Carolina, Florida, Texas, North Dakota, and Arizona. After retiring from the United States Air Force, he returned to his hometown of Spartanburg, South Carolina where worked as a Electrician with Spartanburg Steel Products, Inc. His craftsmanship extended beyond his profession as he was known to be a very skilled Carpenter. He also enjoyed gardening, farming, and sitting in his swing enjoying the beauty of nature.
Outside of work, Calvin found joy in the little things that life had to offer. He cherished old values and memories above all else. A simple man at heart he was light hearted with good sense of humor. Calvin had a passion for collecting stamps, coins, and movies. He was a devoted fan of the Clemson Tigers football team and took pride in being a member of the Spartanburg Stamp Club and The Arcadia Masonic Lodge #285 A.F.M.
In his journey called life, Calvin touched the hearts of many. He will be deeply missed by his surviving family; his wife Myong Kim Ramsey, daughter Cindy White (Bobby), sons Terrance Ramsey and Phillip Ramsey, his only sister Sharon Smith, granddaughters Erica N. Thompson and Robin M. Johnston, Kristina Ramsey. Grandsons Kevin L.
