C. Graham, Sr.

Charles Allan Graham, Sr., 84, of Spartanburg, died Friday, November 4, 2011, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born October 19, 1927, in Inman, SC, he was a son of the late Melvin Hoyt and Sweet Marie Clement Graham and husband of the late Sara Kathryn Griffin Graham. He was retired from KOSA, Inc. and formerly employed with Draper Corp. for 30 years. Mr. Graham was a charter member of Morningside Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and was involved in many church activities including the Royal Sunday School Class. He was a quiet, gentle man of strength who enjoyed time with family, woodworking, and gardening. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Foster of Spartanburg and Vicki Graham of the home; two sons Charles "Chuck" Allan Graham, Jr. and wife Nancy of Taylors, SC, and David J. Graham and wife Dianne of Spartanburg; two sisters, Katharine Callahan of Inman, SC and Betty Mizell of Jonesboro, GA; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and his caregiver, Rose Jackson. He was predeceased by two brothers. Visitation will be 6:30-8:30 PM Sunday, November 6, 2011, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, November 7, 2011, at Morningside Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Kirk H. Neely. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Honorary Escort will be the Royal Sunday School Class. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Morningside Baptist Church Music Ministry or the Building Fund, 897 South Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302. The family is at the home.
