C. Cassady

Charles Edward "Ed" Cassady, 88, of Spartanburg, SC, died Thursday, December 28, 2017, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born August 9, 1929, in Knoxville, TN, he was the son of the late G. W. and Nora Patty Cassady and husband of the late J. Rubyliene Cantrell Cassady. Mr. Cassady retired from Southern Railroad and was a member of United Baptist Church (formerly Hayne Baptist Church). Survivors include his children, Anne McCraw (Jay) of Murfreesboro, TN, Bobby Cassady of Columbia, SC and Daniel Cassady (Cynthia) of Boiling Springs, SC; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Private services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to United Baptist Church, 7519 Valley Falls Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303; or Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
