Burl Lawson

Burl J. Lawson, 83, of 203 Eastview Street, Honea Path, died Tuesday, November 8, 2011, at his home. Born January 23, 1928, in St. Charles, VA, he was the son of the late Benton and Mossie Hanchel Lawson. He was employed with Milliken & Company for 31 years. Survivors include his sons, Jerry Lawson of Honea Path, Jr. Lawson of Spartanburg, and James Ray Lawson of Honea Path; daughters, Teresa Lawson and Barbara Lawson, both of Spartanburg; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Sue Hammett of Spartanburg. He was predeceased by a daughter, Nancy Lawson. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, November 10, 2011 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Friday, November 11, 2011, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by the Rev. Dr. Keith Taylor. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Spartanburg. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621. The family is at the home of his niece, Janet Gossett, 3715 Cannons Campground Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
