Brenda Joyce Waters Rutledge, 79, of Inman, died Monday, January 11, 2021, at her residence. She was born November 3, 1941 in Gaffney, SC, a daughter to the late Fred W. and Novella Blackwell Waters. She was married to the late Leroy Keeney. Brenda was a member of First Baptist Church-North Spartanburg and was retired from Michelin Tire, where she was the first woman to make the 1st production tire in the plant in the 1970's. She was an amazing woman, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, wife and sister. She was a very artistic, creative, and talented individual who could work in any medium. Brenda was a very hard worker who could accomplish anything and inspire you to do the same. Mrs. Rutledge is survived by her grandchildren,, Halie Rutledge (fiancé, Brian Tessner) of Forest City, NC, Bradley Rutledge of Inman, Ashley Rutledge of Inman, and Amber Ferguson of Inman; and her great-grandchildren, Aiden, Blyth, Fallon, Julianne, Leviticus, Natilyne, Jaidyn, and Kyler. She was predeceased by her sons, James Sidney Rutledge, Jr., David Edward Rutledge and Matthew Neal Rutledge. The family will receive friends 1:45-2:45 p.m. Friday, January 15, 2021, at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel, 4161 Hwy 9 North, Boiling Springs, SC 29316. Funeral service follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Jeff Rutledge. Burial will follow at Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens.
