Brenda Hurd

Brenda Nanney Hurd, 73, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at Magnolia Manor Nursing Home-Spartanburg. Born April 15, 1944, in Nashville, TN, she was the daughter of the late Fred M. and Nelda Northcutt Nanney. A native of Spartanburg, SC, Mrs. Hurd was an Elementary School teacher as well as a wonderful mother and homemaker. She was a graduate of Fairforest High School, Limestone College, and received a Bachelor of Art's Degree in 1966 from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC. Surviving are her husband of 52 years, David A. Hurd of Spartanburg, SC; two sons and a daughter, Paul S. Hurd and wife Mandy of Orlando, FL, Mark A. Hurd and wife Shaye of Charleston, SC, and Dawn Mannine and husband Joe of Atlanta, GA; five grandchildren, Mark Allen Hurd II and Brady Hurd of Charleston, SC, Ari Mannine, Ivey Adams, and Alden Adams of Atlanta, GA; half-sisters, Jan E. Nelson and Judy E. Fiene; half-brother, Steve Eubanks; aunt, Mary Brady and husband John of Spartanburg, SC; and niece, Joy Finch and husband Boyd of Lake Bowen, SC. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by step-brothers, George Eubanks, Jr. and Mike Eubanks; and niece, Lisa Lanham. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 17, 2017, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC. The family will receive friends at the Chapel following the service. Burial will be private.
