Boyd Horton

Boyd Ray Horton, 68, of Spartanburg, died Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born April 15, 1942 in Spartanburg County, he was the son of the late William T. "Bill" and Ina Cox Ramsey Horton. He was a retired truck driver for Southeastern Paper Group and a U. S. Army veteran. Mr. Horton was a member of Little Mountain Baptist Church and attended United Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Linda McElyea Horton; a sister, Hazel King and husband Harold of Lyman; and two Godsons, Chris Cannon of Moore and Daryl Cannon of Spartanburg. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Sunday, April 3, 2011 at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM at the chapel, conducted by the Rev. Robert Emory and the Rev. Jack D. Weaver. Burial will be in Fort Prince Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to United Baptist Church Building Fund, 7319 Valley Falls Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
