Boyce Walker Taylor, Jr., 84, died Saturday, December 06, 2014, surrounded by his family and loved ones. He was born October 4, 1930 in Spartanburg County, a son to the late Boyce Walker Taylor, Sr. and Sybil Thomas Taylor. He was the loving husband of the late Betty Jean Smith Taylor for 60 years. Boyce was a decorated Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a graduate of Cecil's Business College and retired from Smith Wholesale Drugs after 40 years as a pharmaceutical salesman. Survivors include two daughters, Deborah (Keith) Cartwright and Tammie (Gary) Thomas; one son, Barry L. (Kathy) Taylor, Sr.; two sisters, Sandra (Rayford) Porter and Barbara Blalock of Spartanburg, SC; two brothers, Ronald (Elaine) Taylor and Donald (Patsy) Taylor of Spartanburg, SC; 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 1:00 - 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Services will follow at 2:00 PM in the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Hank Williams and the Rev. Bobby Lindsey. Burial, with military honors, will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Boiling Springs First Baptist Church, Debt Reduction Fund, 3600 Boiling Springs Road, Boiling Springs, SC 29316.
