Bonnie Louise Ruff, 94, of Boiling Springs, SC, died Friday, May 17, 2013, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born December 5, 1918, in Polk County, NC, she was a daughter of the late John Hampton and Maude Lou Williams Ruff. Bonnie was a member of Caroleen Baptist Church and attended First Baptist Church of Valley Falls. She was formerly employed with Arkwright Mills and Butte Knit. Survivors include her son, Donald E. Tate (Theresa) of Spartanburg; granddaughter, Laura Tate Owings (Matthew) of Columbia; and brothers, Chester L. Ruff of Blacksburg, and Charles E. Ruff of Westminster. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Estelle Coffey, Pauline Allen, Dollie Hursey, and Myrtle Williams; and brothers, Loyd Ruff, Erskine Ruff, Coy Ruff, Joe Ruff, and R. D. Ruff. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday, May 20, 2013, in Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens, 4161 Hwy 9 N, Boiling Springs, SC 29316, by the Rev Glenn Rusher. The family will receive friends at the graveside. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Valley Falls Building Fund, 8352 Valley Falls Rd., Boiling Springs, SC 29316.
