Bonnie Roper

Bonnie Gray Roper, 62, of 198 Washington Road, died Sunday, January 1, 2012 at Mary Black Memorial Hospital. Born August 28, 1949 in Orangeburg, SC, she was the daughter of Onie Gray, Jr. of Gaston, SC and the late Clarice Blackburn Gray. She was employed with Spartanburg Regional Medical Center in Business Services for over 30 years. She was a member of the VFW #9539 Ladies Auxiliary and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Dennis Wayne Roper; a brother, William F. Gray of Cope, SC; nephews, William F. Gray, Jr. of Cope, SC, William S. Walters of Yokosuka, Japan; and niece, Holly W. Barton of Orangeburg, SC. She was predeceased by a sister, Brenda Gray Weathers. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Phillip Whelchel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303. The family is at the home.
