Bonnie Petty

Bonnie Webb Petty, 81, formerly of East Main Street, Pacolet, SC, died Monday, January 6, 2014, at Village Hospital-Greer, SC. Born September 30, 1932, in the Goucher Community of Cherokee County, she was the daughter of the late John Dillard and Bessie Mathis Webb, and widow of Charlie Walter Petty. A 1950 graduate of Pacolet High School, Mrs. Petty was a member of Pacolet United Methodist Church, a member of the church choir for several years, former church treasurer, and chairperson of the Administrative Board. She enjoyed careers as the owner/operator of Petty Upholstery, the Community Cash Stores in Spartanburg, Pacolet, and Jonesville, as well as Arrow Automotive. Surviving are her sons, Walter Dean Petty (Nancy) of Spartanburg, SC, and Bruce L. Petty (Carol) of Lyman, SC; grandchildren, Elizabeth Petty and David Petty of Lyman, SC, Dean Petty and John Petty (Megon) of Spartanburg, SC; and her niece, Aughtry B. Hyatt of Pacolet, who provided special love and care. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by three sisters, Eva Blackwell, Margaret Mabry, and Ida Murphy; and three brothers, Robert Webb, Grover Webb, and Cleveland J. Webb. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at Floyd's Pacolet Chapel, 141 Memorial Drive, Pacolet, SC 29372. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at Floyd's Pacolet Chapel, by the Rev. Jimmy Dillard and Pastor Bob Aho. Burial will be in Pacolet Memorial Gardens.
