Bobby Worthy

Bobby G. Worthy, 80, of Pacolet, died Sunday, January 6, 2013, at the home of his daughter. Born June 30, 1932, in Pacolet, SC, he was the son of the late Victor and Louise Guyton Worthy and husband of the late Mary Lee Worthy. A veteran of the U. S. Navy, Mr. Worthy's most enjoyable hobby was fishing, he was a member of Tate Memorial Baptist Church, and was retired from Southern Railroad. Survivors include his daughter, Joy Patrick (Bob) of Spartanburg; granddaughters, Ashley Patrick and Haley Patrick, both of Spartanburg; and brothers, Harry Worthy of Pacolet, Charles Worthy (Betty) of Clifton, and Johnny Worthy (Judy) of Pacolet Mills. A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 PM Wednesday, January 9, 2013, in Pacolet Memorial Gardens, by the Rev. Dennis Tessnier. Visitation will follow at the graveside. Memorials may be made to the Parkinson's Disease Research Center Emory University, 1440 Clifton Road NE Suite 170, Atlanta, GA 30322; or Tate Memorial Baptist Church, PO Box 88, Pacolet, SC 29372.
