James R. "Bobby" McCarley, 79, of Spartanburg, died Sunday, April 3, 2011, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born November 9, 1931, in Moore, he was the son of the late John James and Frances McAbee McCarley. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Louise Holt McCarley. Mr. McCarley was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a retired foreman from Atlas Van Lines where he worked for 38 years, and a former employee of Spartan Mills. A member of Nazareth Presbyterian Church, he also attended the Catholic church on occasion. He graduated from Roebuck High School and attendedCecil's Business College. Bobby was a member of the Roebuck Improvement Association and The Fast Lane. In addition to his wife, survivors include, two daughters, Cindy Langston and husband John of Spartanburg, and Missy Patterson and husband Todd of Roebuck; a son, Rob McCarley and wife Leesa of Roebuck; five beloved grandchildren of "Pop", Holt and John Sawyer McCarley, Madeline, Abigayle, and William Patterson; and a sister, Margaret Wagner of Clinton. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
