Bobby Hodge

Bobby Eugene Hodge, 81, of Spartanburg, SC, died Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born October 14, 1932, in Cowpens, SC, he was the son of the late John Wright and Nell Moss Hodge. A U. S. Army veteran, Bobby was a graduate of Cowpens High School and Cecil's Business College, and was retired from Hersey Measurements. He was a member of Cudd Memorial Baptist Church, the Hejaz Shrine Temple, and Spartanburg and Woodruff Shrine Clubs. Bobby served as past Master and past Secretary of Lone Oak Lodge #372. He also served as past District Deputy of the 20th Masonic District. Survivors include his wife, Mary Johnson Hodge; daughter, Sharon Rochester of Gaffney, SC; granddaughter, Blake Scarborough of Charleston, SC; sister, Joyce Wilkins (Eddie) of Cowpens, SC; sister-in-law, Bert Hodge of Spartanburg, SC; niece, Melissa Still (Jay) of Boiling Springs, SC; and nephew, Wayne Wilkins (Karen) of Orlando, FL. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Jack Hodge. Visitation, with Masonic rites by Lone Oak Lodge #372 at 5:45 PM, will be 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, January 10, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 11, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by the Rev. Danny Garrett and the Rev. Ronnie Norris. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Memorials may be made to Cudd Memorial Baptist Church General Fund, 1301 Boiling Springs Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303; or Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
