Bobby Gregory

Bobby E. Gregory, 72, of Spartanburg, died Monday, May 25, 2009, at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville. Born July 3, 1936, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Ottis Grady and Madeline Naomi Solesbee Gregory and the husband of the late Elaine Phillips Wilder Gregory. A graduate of Fairforest High School, he attended Furman University and Wofford College and was a retired Vice-President at Butte Knit. He was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church where he was a member of the Choir and the Senior Group. Survivors include a daughter, Susan Merrell and her husband Joe of Campobello; a son, Rob Gregory and his wife Lynn of Anderson; and five grandchildren, Haley Powers, Olivia and Joe Taylor Merrell, and Evan and Ali Gregory. Graveside services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, May 28, 2009, at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Ray Hellings. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Child Evangelism Fellowship, 1849 East Blackstock Road, Roebuck, SC 29376.
