Bobby Smith

Bobby "Bob" Michael Smith, 77, of Boiling Springs, SC, died Sunday, March 25, 2018, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born May 18, 1940, in Drexel, NC, he was the son of the late Alvin and Dora Hice Smith. He was husband of the late Patricia Anne Thomas Smith and the late Sallie Blease Smith. A U. S. Marine veteran and graduate of Kings College in Charlotte, Mr. Smith was the retired owner of Gemini Trucking Company. He enjoyed family and fishing and attended Carlisle Wesleyan Church. Surviving are his children, Tricia S. Summerfield and husband, Alan Summerfield of Boiling Springs, SC, Robert Smith of Cowpens, SC, and Janet Smith of Lenoir, NC; nine grandchildren, Jacob Summerfield, Brittany Bradley, Joshua Smith, Savannah Smith, Jorgie Chandler, Gabbie Chandler, Cullen Chandler, Lilly Chandler, and Ben Chandler; sister, Loretta Long of Lenoir, NC; and brother, Kenneth Smith of Charlotte, NC. In addition to his parents and wives, he was predeceased by a son, Bobby Michael Smith, Jr.; and sister, Linda Tibbs. Visitation will be 12:00-1:30 PM Thursday, March 29, 2018, at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel, 4161 Hwy 9 N, Boiling Springs, SC 29316 with funeral services following at 2:00 PM, conducted by The Rev. Michael Stepp. Burial will be in Heritage Memorial Gardens, 3901 S. Church St., Roebuck, SC 29376. Memorials may be made to Carlisle Wesleyan Church, 3250 Old Furnace Rd., Chesnee, SC 29323.
