Blanche Mccallister

Blanche Hughes McCallister, 91, of 149 Chestnut Lake Dr., Inman, formerly of 127 Huxley St., Spartanburg, died Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born December 25, 1919 in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Naubert and Violet Waddell Hughes and wife of the late Ned C. McCallister. Mrs. McCallister was a member of Cudd Memorial Baptist Church and retired from Roses Department Store. Survivors include a son, Danny McCallister and his wife Judy of Inman; a sister, Carolyn Hoyt of Valley Stream, NY; a brother, Don Hughes of Chesnee; and a very close niece, Carol Marchionne and her husband Paul and nephew, Mickey Hughes, along with several other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Guynita Dial, Janelle Hughes, and Peggy Babbino and one brother, James Hughes. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, February 3, 2011 at Whitney Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Danny Garrett. Visitation will follow the graveside service.
