Blanche Gilbert

Blanche Gilbert, 81, of Cowpens, SC died Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born December 31, 1939 in Clifton, SC she was the daughter of the late Donald Sylvester and Ruby Mae Johnson Fowler. She was the widow of James Ferrell Gilbert.  She was the sister in through Christ to Porky Holt.

Blanche was a graduate of Cowpens High School and was a substitute teacher for District 3 schools. She was a member of Central Baptist Church of Cowpens.

Survivors include her daughter, Tina Gilbert (Jackie Martinez) of Cowpens, SC, son, Donnie Gilbert (Tammy) of Boiling Springs, SC, granddaughter, Jamie Edwards (Jonathon) and Brittany Flippo (Andrew), great grandchildren, Gavin Edwards, Hudson Edwards, Hadley Edwards, Breelyn Flippo and Elijah Martinez, her brother, Ellis Fowler (Jean) of Greenville, SC, Paula Holt (Best Friend Forever) of Cowpens, Mildred Fowler, sister-in-law.  She was predeceased by a brother, Ray Fowler.

Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 PM Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Sunday, August 22, 2021 at Central Baptist Church of Cowpens, 126 E. Church Street, Cowpens, SC 29330, conducted by The Rev. Jason Metcalf, The Rev. Andrew Flippo and Chaplain Fritz Gilbert. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, 1955 Cannons Campground Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church of Cowpens, Children’s Youth Fund, 126 E. Church Street, Cowpens, SC 29330.
