Theodore "Ted" Lanford Wilson, 86, of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at his home. Born October 25, 1931, in Pacolet, SC, he was the son of the late Roy Wilson and Sally Worthy Sullivan. A U. S. Marine veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Wilson was a graduate of Southern Technical College in Georgia where he received a degree in Civil Engineering. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, the Steadfast Sunday School Class, a lifelong member and past president of the Breakfast Optimist Club, a member of Gideons International, and retired from Lockwood Greene. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Betty E. Wilson; children, Mary Beth Bright (Jonathan) and Mark Lanford Wilson; grandchildren Elise, Abigail, Cameron, and Mary Elizabeth (Shane). In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Deb Grande. Visitation will be 1:00-2:30 PM Saturday February 3, 2018, at Bethany Baptist Church, 622 Alamo St., Spartanburg, SC 29303 with funeral services following at 3:00 PM, conducted by The Rev. Allen Elder and The Rev. Jonathan Bright. Burial will be in Fort Prince Memorial Gardens, 125 Fort Prince Rd., Wellford, SC 29385. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cross Roads Youth Ranch, 344 Fleming Road, Pacolet, SC 29372; or Bethany Baptist Church Mission Fund, PO Box 4086, Spartanburg, SC 29305.
