Billy Ray

Bill Ray, 83, of Spartanburg, died Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at his home. Born December 12, 1928, in Kentucky, he was a U. S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War, a member of the American Legion, and retired from Kenan Transport. Surviving are his wife, Polley Standifer Ray; son, Joey Ray of Florence, SC; stepdaughter, Betty Mullins of Spartanburg, SC; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and sisters, Betty McCoy of Columbia, SC, and Sue Morris of Clearwater, FL. He was predeceased by daughters, Sandra Jones and Mickey Blythe; and a grandson, Ron Mullins. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, October 13, 2012, in Westwood Memorial Gardens, by the Rev. Gerald Burnett. Visitation will follow at the graveside.
