Billy Kirby

Billy Malcom Kirby, 84, of Mayo, SC, died Friday, June 20, 2014, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born February 27, 1930 in Pacolet, SC, he was the son of the late Archie and Maybelle Seay Kirby and widower of the late Martha Fant Kirby. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War, was of the Baptist faith and retired from Sears Roebuck Company. He loved golf and repairing small engines. Survivors include a brother, Archie Talmadge Kirby; and a sister, Frances Kirby Plexico, both of Spartanburg, SC; a brother-in-law and his caregiver, Raymond Fant of Chesnee, SC. He was predeceased by a brother, James Wendell Kirby; and a sister, Kathleen Kirby Hanes. A graveside service with military rites will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 24, 2014 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
