Billy Inman, Jr.

Billy Hobert Inman, Jr., 88, of Boiling Springs, SC, died Sunday, September 25, 2016, at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills-Landrum. Born September 24, 1928, in Buffalo, SC, he was the son of the late Billy Hobert Inman, Sr. and Pearl Wright Inman and the loving husband of 59 years to the late Nellie "Nell" Lawson Inman. A U. S. Army veteran and graduate of Wofford College, Mr. Inman was a member of Buffalo American Legion Post and St. John Masonic Lodge #333. He was a longtime agent with Liberty Life Insurance Company and devoted volunteer with Boy Scouts of America as well as a member of the Order of the Arrow. He was also a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Paul Morris Sunday School Class. "Dedad" is survived by his sons, Billy H. Inman, III (Shirlene) of Landrum, SC and Lee Inman of Boiling Springs, SC; daughter, Sonya Inman Floyd (Max) of Boiling Springs, SC; granddaughters, Kylie I. Holladay (Brian), Anna Inman, and Katie Floyd; grandsons, Jake Inman and Evan Floyd; great-granddaughters, Julia and Ellie Holladay; and sister-in-law, Ann Inman. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his siblings, Geneva, Valerie, Virginia, Jennings, and Roger. Visitation will be 12:30-1:30 PM Friday, September 30, 2016, at Trinity United Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM, at the church, conducted by the Rev. Neal Y. Woods and the Rev. A. Mickey Fisher. Burial, with Masonic Rites, will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 626 Norwood Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302; Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 260 Fairwinds Drive, Landrum, SC 29356; or Boy Scouts of America, Palmetto Council, 420 South Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306.
