Billy Leonard Gowan, Jr., 51, of 122 Bermuda Lane, died Sunday, January 10, 2010. Born March 10, 1958, in Jacksonville, FL, he was the son of the late Billy L. Gowan, Sr. and Ida Canellas Gowan. He was the owner and operator of The Bookstore and More. He was a member of Springs of Grace Lutheran Church, the Boiling Springs Business Association, a volunteer and supporter of Harvest Family Ministries of Boiling Springs, and a U.S. Navy Veteran. He donated daily devotions and Bibles to area churches, homeless ministries, and other Christian charities. Survivors include his wife, Wendi Dunlavy Gowan; a daughter, Kara Nicole Gowan of Myrtle Beach; a step-daughter, Amy Abernathy of Boiling Springs; two step-sons, Richard Dunlavy and Scott Dunlavy, both of Somerset, KY; two sisters, Teresa G. Herron, and Patty McSwain and her husband Ronnie, all of Boiling Springs; two nieces and a nephew, Shelley Crocker, Kate McSwain, and Chad McSwain, all of Boiling Springs; and five grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 16, 2010, at Springs of Grace Lutheran Church conducted by the Rev. Judson F. Merrell and the Rev. Chris Pollard. The family will receive friends following the service at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Springs of Grace Lutheran Church, P. O.
