Billie Ann Theodore Smith, 89, of Clinton, SC and formerly of Spartanburg, SC, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at The Clinton Presbyterian Community. Born May 19, 1927, and raised in Greenville, SC, she was the only child of the late William and Ida Bell Theodore. A graduate of the University of South Carolina, Billie Ann received her Bachelor of Science Degree and was employed as a chemical technician in the textile industry. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Spartanburg. Survivors include her husband of 69 years, William Poole Smith; son, William T. "Tedd" Smith and wife, Sara of Greenwood, SC; grandchildren, James "Jim" Smith and wife, Heather, of North Myrtle Beach, Jessica Willard and husband, Jason, of Greenwood, and Sharon Smith of New York City; and great-grandchildren Andrew and Kennedy Smith and Keaton and Bryson Willard. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 10, 2016, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by The Rev. Joanne Hull and The Rev. Dr. Jeri Parris Perkins. Visitation will follow at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Billie Ann's memory to First Presbyterian Church Spartanburg at 393 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302-1917, or to Mobile Meals, PO Box 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304.
