William Price Hartis, Jr., 77, of 301 Crews Drive, died Sunday, November 8, 2009, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born September 21, 1932, in Charlotte, NC, he was the son of Louzon Black Hartis of Charlotte and the late William Price (W. P.) Hartis. He was retired from Milliken and Company as the Director of Transportation and Warehousing. He was a longtime Mobile Meals volunteer and a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and numerous professional clubs and related entities. Surviving in addition to his mother is his wife, Betty "Boots" Hartis; a daughter, Phyllis James, a special "son-in-law", Don McCallister, of Inman; and a sister, Dorothy Monroe of Murrells Inlet. He was predeceased by a sister, Judy White. Visitation will be 2:00-2:45 p.m. Wednesday, November 11, 2009, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Frank E. Lybrand and the Rev. Ronald Towery. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
