Beverly Gibby

Beverly Hunter Cato Gibby, 52, of Lancaster, SC, died Saturday, October 26, 2013, at her home. Born October 30, 1960, in Augusta, GA, she was the daughter of George Hayes Hunter of Spartanburg, SC, and the late Nellene Sams Hunter. Beverly was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. She was an administrative secretary for the Lancaster County School District and a licensed cosmetologist. In addition to her father, survivors include her daughters, Lauren Cato Blackwell and Michelle Ashley Cato; and grandchildren, Noah Blackwell and Emma Blackwell. She was also predeceased by a brother, George Byron Hunter. Visitation will be 1:30-3:00 PM Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at New Life Worship Center, 3548 Clifton-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 3:30 PM at the church, conducted by the Rev. Celeste Cathcart. Private burial, at a later date, will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family requests memorials be made to New Life Worship Center, 3548 Clifton-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307. The family is at the home of her father, George Hunter.
