Betty Worthy

Betty Ruth Hensley Worthy, 84, of Pacolet, died Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at her home. Born April 4, 1929, in Pacolet, SC, she was the daughter of the late Hansel Dewey and Edith Gertrude Daugherty Hensley. Mrs. Worthy was a member of Pacolet Mills Baptist Church and formerly employed with Pacolet & Beaumont Mills. Surviving is her beloved husband of 63 years, Robert "Jug" Henry Worthy; daughters, Joan Loftis (Sid) of Spartanburg and Rhonda Johnson of Pacolet; son, Jeff Worthy of Spartanburg; grandchildren, Tyler Loftis (Elizabeth), Kristen Loftis, Ben Johnson (Kaylee), Will Johnson, Clayton Worthy (Jamie), and Kyle Worthy (Olivia); great-grandchildren, Devyn Johnson, Robert Loftis, and Sarah Johnson; nephew, Max Redd (Shaomin); and great-niece, Shira Redd. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 16, 2013, in Pacolet Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Norman L. Band. Visitation will follow at the graveside.
