Betty Trent

Betty Mathis Trent, 86, of Pacolet, died on Sunday, February 24, 2013, at her home. Born April 14, 1926, in Pacolet Mills, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Maude Sparks Mathis and widow of William "Shug" Trent. Mrs. Trent was a member of Pacolet Mills Baptist Church and retired from Kohler after 31 years of service. Survivors include her grandchildren, Allison Smith (Barry) of Walhalla, SC, Amy Bratton of Pacolet, SC, and David Wynn (Amy) of Laurens, SC; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Evelyn Martin of Pacolet, SC, and Bobbie Mathis of Georgia. She was predeceased by a daughter, Beth Wynn; and nine brothers and sisters. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at Floyd's Pacolet Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at Floyd's Pacolet Chapel, by the Rev. Norman Band. Burial will be in Pacolet Memorial Gardens.
