Betty Sims

Betty Jo Taylor Sims, 80, of Spartanburg, died Wednesday, December 21, 2011, at Magnolia Place-Spartanburg. Born January 27, 1931, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late James Howard and Sally Steadman Taylor, and wife of the late Fred C. Sims. Mrs. Sims was a member of Second Presbyterian Church and retired from the Spartanburg Herald-Journal newspaper after 42 years of service. Survivors include her grandson, Dallas T. Sims of Spartanburg; granddaughter, Stephanie D. Sims of Oklahoma City, OK; nieces, Vicki Chappell and husband Larry of Lyman, and Cindy Taylor of Spartanburg; nephew, Steve Taylor and wife Alicia of Sherrills Ford, NC; and sister-in-law, Lucy S. Taylor of Spartanburg. She was predeceased by a son, Dennis Carroll Sims. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, December 23, 2011, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, by the Rev.
