Betty Sheridan

Betty Mooneyham Sheridan, 81, of 448 Royal Oak Drive, Spartanburg, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born April 30, 1930, in Spartanburg County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Nell Worley Mooneyham. Mrs. Sheridan was married to the late Michael John Sheridan for 35 years. They successfully ran Sheridan's Restaurant on Union Street in Spartanburg from 1960 until 1996. Mrs. Sheridan was a longtime member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She taught the Young Children's Sunday School Class for over 30 years. She was an active member of Circle One and served on the Altar Guild and the flower delivery committee. She was a dedicated volunteer for Mobile Meals Service for 10 years. She is survived by her child, only daughter, Donna Lynn Sheridan of the home; five nephews; two nieces; and several great-nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, October 17, 2011, in St. John's Lutheran Church, conducted by the Rev. Mike Shackelford and the Rev. Emily Edenfield. Visitation will follow in the church Fellowship Hall. Honorary escort will be St. John's Lutheran Church Lunch Bunch.
