Betty Ellis Schrimpf, 82, of Spartanburg, entered into rest on Monday, January 2, 2012, at the home of her daughter in Evans, GA. The wife of the late R. Homer Schrimpf, a daughter of the late W. R. and Ruth Ellis, she was born July 10, 1929, a native and life long resident of Spartanburg, SC. Mrs. Schrimpf was an active member of River Hills Baptist Church. She is survived by her son, Robert (Bobby) H. Schrimpf, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant; a daughter, Ruth Anne (George) Tuten of Evans, GA; four grandchildren, Robert Brian Schrimpf and William Matthew Schrimpf of Columbia, SC, Robert Edward Tuten of Augusta, GA, and Jeanna Elizabeth (Zac) Martin of Grovetown, GA; one step grandchild, Tara Tuten Langford of Stillwater, MN; one great-grandchild, Ellie Reese Martin; two sisters, Lou Griffin and Pat (Bob) Brown; two brothers, Dan (Cynthia) Ellis and Tommy (Barbara) Ellis; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, January 5, 2012, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, January 6, 2012, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by the Rev. C. Kent Smith. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Brian Schrimpf, Matt Schrimpf, Robbie Tuten, Zac Martin, Richard Parker, and David Brown. Memorials may be made to River Hills Baptist Church, 5762 Reidville Road, Moore, SC 29369; or Bearden-Josey Center for Breast Health, 101 East Wood Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
