Betty Pitts

Betty Marzette Rinehart Pitts, 82, of Wellford, SC, died Thursday, September 5, 2013, at her daughter's home. Born July 19, 1931, in Westminster, SC, she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Mamie Wesson Rinehart. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Mrs. Pitts was an award winning bowler, an avid sportsperson, and great cook. She was also co-owner of Marchel Industries. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Bobby "Bob" Lee Pitts; children, Randy Pitts (Cathy) of Morganton, NC, Gene Pitts (Karen) of Landrum, SC, Bobby Pitts (Nancy) of Spartanburg, SC, Deborah Williams (Edward) of Inman, SC, and Ricky Pitts (Erin O'Brien) of Wellford, SC; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Clara Clark and Raynell Crumpton, both of Columbia, SC. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by four brothers; and four sisters. Visitation will be 2:00-2:45 PM on Sunday, September 8, 2013, in the Parlor of First Baptist Church, 250 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29306. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM, in Davis Chapel at First Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Sal Barone. Burial will be in Fort Prince Memorial Gardens, 125 Ft. Prince Rd., Wellford, SC 29385. The family is at the home of her daughter, Deborah and Edward Williams, 515 Blackstone Dr., Inman, SC 29349.
