Betty Miller

Betty Alley Miller, 83, of Spartanburg, died Monday, October 15, 2012, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born August 25, 1929, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Bertha Davis Alley. Mrs. Miller was a charter member of Morningside Baptist Church and the Rebecca Sunday School Class. She was formerly employed in cafeteria services with Spartanburg County School District 7 and several local drug stores. Surviving are her husband of 64 years, John W. Miller; daughters, Joyce McDowell and husband Jerry of Chesnee, Ann Daniel and husband Larry of Spartanburg, and Charlotte Jones and husband Jackie of Mayo; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and brother, James Alley and wife Myra of Roebuck. She was predeceased by a son, Thomas F. Miller; brothers, David R. Alley and Bill Alley; and sisters, Iola Jackson and Lila Brunson. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 17, 2012, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, by the Rev. Dr. Kirk H. Neely. Visitation will follow at the graveside.
