Betty Lydia

Betty Phillips Lydia, 81, of Spartanburg, died Friday, October 22, 2010 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born May 22, 1929 in Whitney, SC, she was the daughter of the late Clyde Victor and Jessie Tennyson Phillips. She attended Arkwright Baptist Church. Survivors include one sister, Shirley P. Southern of Hampton, VA; a brother-in-law, Jack Glover of Lancaster; nieces, Anne G. Hayes of Lancaster and Denise S. Huskey of Hampton, VA; nephews, Ted Glover of Liberty Hill, Mike Southern and Victor Southern both of Hampton, VA; special friends, Edward Stevenson of Columbia, Judy and Billy Gossett of Pacolet, and Cecil Human of Spartanburg. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Lydia; a sister Sarah P. Glover; and special aunt, Lucille T. Branch. Visitation will be 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM Sunday, October 24, 2010 at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. James Blackwood. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
