Betty Long

Betty Keisler Bishop Hooker Long, 94, of Spartanburg, SC formerly of Pacifica Assisted Living, died Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Heartland Health Care Center, Greenville, SC. Born August 1, 1926 in Landrum, SC she was the daughter of the late Mamie Joyce Burnett and Harvey Edgar Bishop. She was predeceased by her husband's Benjamin Allen Hooker and Rev. Gideon Madison Long Jr. Mrs. Long was a retired secretary with McBee Systems, Charlotte, NC and an avid bridge player. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church Spartanburg. Survivors include her sons, B. Allen Hooker (Fran) of Travelers Rest, SC, Robert H. Hooker of Zebulon, NC, David J. P, Hooker (Elaine) of Winfield, IL; grandchildren, Blythe Hooker, Whitney Hooker, Abbey Hooker, Matthew Hooker, Benjamin Hooker, and Samuel Hooker; four step-children and six step-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was predeceased by brothers, Otis Bishop, Charles Bishop, and Frank Bishop. Burial will be in Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212.
