Betty Lawson

Betty Guy Lawson, 80, of 151 Love Lane, Pacolet, died Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville, SC. Born March 3, 1931, in Spartanburg County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph William and Lillie Blanken Guy and wife of the late Earl S. Lawson. Mrs. Lawson was retired from Mountain View Nursing Home, after 17 years of service, and was of the Holiness faith. Survivors include her daughter, Krystal Lawson Burrell of Pacolet; two sons, Roger Earl Lawson of Spartanburg, and Guy Stevenson Lawson of Pacolet; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Linda Gibson of Spartanburg; two brothers, Robert William Guy of Mayo, and Larry Charles Guy of Georgia. She was predeceased by a son, Gary Donald Lawson; a sister, Mable Hughes; and three brothers, Bobby Joe Guy, James Harold Guy, and Harry Bruce Guy. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, April 1, 2011 at Glendale Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Belton Drake. Visitation will follow at the graveside.
