Betty Smith

Betty L. Smith, 79, of Veneta, OR, formerly of Chesnee and Spartanburg, SC, passed away Monday, April 29, 2013. Born February 10, 1934, in Rutherfordton, NC, she was the daughter of the late Lewis E. Pleasant and Mary Medford Pleasant. Survivors include her sons, Carroll Smith and wife Sharon of Spartanburg, SC, Michael Smith and wife Doreen of Veneta, OR; closet friend and cousin, Libby and Jay Mills of Boerne, TX; grandsons, Michael and DJ of Spartanburg, SC, David of Harrisburg, OR, and Timothy of Rota, Spain; nine great-grandchildren; multiple cousins, nieces, and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Thomas P. Smith; and a brother, Gene A. Pleasant. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 18, 2013, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Memorials may be made to your local Hospice.
