Betty Kiger

Betty Lois Young Kiger, 70, of 741 Maywood Street, Spartanburg, SC, died Sunday, November 17, 2013, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born September 7, 1943, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late William Lewis Young Sr. and Lila Lou Kimbrell Hudgins and step-daughter of the late Jack D. Hudgins. She was employed by Wal-Mart and attended Fairview Freewill Baptist Church. Surviving is her husband, Dean Kiger; daughter, Donna Wall Jenkins; sons, David R. Wall and Donald W. Wall, all of Spartanburg; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sisters, Lila Cantrell, Christine Horton, and Bula Justice. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Lisa Wilkie; grandson, Justin Jenkins; and brother, William L. Young, Jr. A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, November 23, 2013, at Fairview Freewill Baptist Church, 2058 Chesnee Hwy., Spartanburg, SC 29303, by the Rev. Tim Hackett. Visitation will follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fairview Freewill Baptist Church Building Fund, 2058 Chesnee Highway, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
